I am on sabbatical leave from Gurango Software for the period September 2009 to April 2010. I will resume my position on May, 2010.
While on sabbatical, I am a volunteer for VSO International. VSO is an independent international development organization that works through volunteers to address poverty-related issues in developing countries.
I am assigned as a “Resource Organizer ” for the Kalomo District Council in Zambia, Africa from October, 2009. The Kalomo District is a rural community in Southern Zambia with agriculture as its main source of livelihood. My job is to help the Council to formulate a strategic program to provide its residents with livelihood opportunities and increased access to social services -

• Formulation of FLY HIGH 2010 – the five year software industry growth roadmap
• 40% average industry annual growth rate
• Selling missions to the US, Europe, Japan and rest of Asia
• Linkages and strategic alliances with other industry sub-sectors
• Linkages with academe, private sector agencies and LGU’s in training and job creation for the Philippine IT services industry
• Institutionalization of industry cluster groups – i.e. Japan, Europe, Open Source, Microsoft ISVs – to ensure representation of various interests within the industry -
